The insular nature of Mediterranean islands and the economic and environmental problems derived from it constitutes one of the greatest political and social concerns of these territories.
The 1st International Forum on Insularity in the Mediterranean is conceived with the purpose of becoming a meeting point for the key groups involved in assessment and analysis of the problems arising as a result of insular isolation: representatives from political and planning, academics, members of the business community and the general public.
